Atlanta United has signed Newell’s Old Boys defender Franco Escobar, according to Cesar Luis Merlo of TyC Sports.
Gerardo Martino’s side reportedly has purchased Escobar outright, signing the 22-year-old to a three-year contract with options for an additional two seasons.
GALAXY READY TO MOVE ZARDES
The LA Galaxy are ready to move forward Gyasi Zardes, according to multiple reports.
Zardes had a difficult year as the Galaxy struggled, scoring just twice and adding two assists.
ARTUR TO LEAVE THE CREW
Brazilian outlets, including esporte have reported that Columbus Crew midfielder Artur will be returning to Sao Paulo FC after the club rejected a bid from the Crew to buy half of the 21-year-old’s rights.
Columbus announced while making their end of season roster moves that they were engaged with Sao Paulo in discussions about permanently acquiring the midfielder, who played a big part in the club’s run to the Eastern Conference finals.

Atlanta United is ready to break the bank to land Argentina teenager Ezequiel Barco, according to Cesar Lusi Merlo of TyC Sports.
The MLS side reportedly is willing to pay Independiente $14 million to secure the services of the 18-year-old attacking midfielder, which would be the highest fee ever paid by an MLS side.
SNEIJDER TO MAKE LAFC MOVE
Wesley Sneijder could be on the move again, this time to MLS expansion side Los Angeles FC, according to AD .
Sneijder only joined French side Nice this summer from Turkish club Galatasaray, but the 33-year-old’s agent traveled to Los Angeles this week to work out the terms of a deal with LAFC.
Sneijder has fallen out of favor with the Ligue 1 side and is now out injured, meaning he could be set for a move to California.
KAKA TO PLAY IN CHINA
