Residents of Garissa have been treated to chaos after a political rally turned nasty.
This after supporters of National Assembly Majority leader Aden stormed rival Farah Maalim’s campaign rally in the town on Thursday, April 20.

Maalim who is from the National Super Alliance (NASA) is battling Jubilee Party’s Duale for the Garissa township parliamentary seat.

The rally at Garissa Ndogo area was meant to drum up support for Maalim ahead of the August General Election and was attended by several elders from the group.
Youths chanting anti-Maalim songs later stormed the rally before the leaders could address it.
According to a source who spoke to TUKO.co.ke, youths allied to Maalim later confronted their rivals with the venue of the rally turned into a battlefield.

Police were forced to intervene by firing in the air to disperse the clashing youth.
Maalim who is a former national assembly speaker has vowed to Duale’s political career by defeating him in the August General Election.
Duale on his part has claimed that Maalim has no support in the constituency.
