Election observation group tables results from its parallel tallying centre


– An election observation group has released results of their tally on the just concluded General Election

– The results came jjust a day after the IEBC declared Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner thereby securing himself a second term in office

– The Elections Observation Group (ELOG) results were strikingly similar to the results that the IEBC had presented as the final official results

– The group gave Uhuru Kenyatta a 54.0% while Raila came second with 44.9%

An elections observation group has tabled its results for the just concluded Kenyan General Election.

Elections Observation Group (ELOG) conducted a parallel tally in 1,692 polling stations across Kenya.

They then analysed the reports from their Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) observers across the country and documented the findings.

In the findings, Uhuru Kenyatta carried the day with a 54.0% win while Raila trailed him with 44.9%.

The organisation however pointed out that voter education had not been properly undertaken which led to the majority of spoilt votes.

They also recorded a few incidences, 7.6% in which the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS) failed to function properly.

The NASA alliance agents were reported in 84% of all the polling stations across the country while Jubilee agents were in 93.3% of the pollling stations across the country.

The results by ELOG are almost similar to the result that the IEBC tabled as the final official results of the General Election.

Official results gave Uhuru a 54.3 win over Raila Odinga's 44.7%.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy won a second term in office althogh their competition, NASA, has rejected the results.
